Day 1 – UK to Granada

To Granada

Your adventure begins today when you take your flight from London to Málaga. On arrival, you'll enjoy a private transfer up into the Sierra Nevada mountains to the unforgettable city of Granada. This beautiful city, the heart of Al-Andalus in the 11th century, sits below the iconic Alhambra. Choose from our selection of 4-Star hotels on a B&B basis.

Day 2 – Boarding Al Andalus in Granada

This morning, you'll be transferred to meet your fellow Al Andalus passengers. Enjoy canapés and drinks as the train team welcomes you with your ticket, cabin number and itinerary.

After meeting your guide, set out to explore Granada. For lunch, savour the region's most renowned dishes at a carefully selected restaurant.

In the afternoon, return to the train, where the crew will greet you with a welcome drink as you settle into your luxurious cabin. After a delightful dinner on board, spend the night on the train as it rests in Granada.

Day 3 – Granada and the Alhambra

Today promises to be unforgettable! After our first breakfast on board, we'll explore Spain's most visited treasure - the breathtaking Alhambra*, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Step inside this legendary Nasrid fortress, once home to sultans and kings, and wander through its stunning palaces and gardens. Capture unforgettable photos in the exquisite Nasrid Palaces and the iconic Patio de los Leones. Then, unwind amid the serene fountains and lush greenery of the Generalife.

After lunch at a local restaurant, we'll continue our explorations through the heart of Granada before returning to the train. As we travel into the Andalucían countryside, to Espeluy station, enjoy a magnificent dinner on board.

Cordoba

Day 4 - World Heritage cities of Úbeda and Córdoba

After breakfast, we'll explore the historic city of Úbeda, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its stunning Renaissance architecture. Next, immerse yourself in Andalucía's rich culinary heritage with a visit to a traditional olive oil mill, where you'll enjoy a delightful tasting of the region's finest oils.

Back on board, savour a delicious meal as we journey to Córdoba - a city that once flourished as the capital of the Al Andalus caliphate. Discover its fascinating history on a guided tour before indulging in dinner at a local restaurant. We'll spend the night in Córdoba, surrounded by its timeless charm.

Ronda

Day 5 - Córdoba to the White Village of Ronda

Córdoba's most famous site awaits after breakfast as we step inside one of the city's most extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage sites - the awe-inspiring Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, also known as the Mezquita.

Back aboard the luxurious Al Ándalus train, enjoy a gourmet meal as we journey to Ronda, a gem of Andalucía's White Villages route. In the afternoon, we explore Ronda with our guide, strolling through the scenic Alameda del Tajo and admiring the breathtaking Puente Nuevo and Puente Viejo. Discover Spain's oldest bullring and the magnificent Mondragón Palace, among other iconic landmarks.

We'll end the evening with a gourmet dinner at a renowned local restaurant, savouring Ronda's finest cuisine before spending the night in this enchanting town.

Jerez

Day 6 - Savouring the famous flavors of Jerez

Jerez

Jerez is famed around the world for its fortified wine, known by its anglicised name of sherry. As we enjoy breakfast, the train arrives in Jerez, where we'll visit a prestigious winery to uncover the secrets behind the production of sherry. During our tour, we'll sample some of the finest varieties the winery has to offer. Next, experience the magic of Andalucía's equestrian heritage during a mesmerising ballet demonstrating the remarkable choreography between horse and rider.

Our journey continues to Sanlúcar de Barrameda, a coastal gem overlooking Doñana National Park, where we'll indulge in a fantastic meal. Afterwards, enjoy free time to explore the city at your leisure.

In the evening, we'll return to Jerez for a delightful dinner on board our train before settling in for the night.

Cadiz

Day 7 – Ancient Cádiz

Following breakfast on board, our adventure begins with a coach journey to Cádiz.

Considered to be the oldest continuously inhabited settlement in western Europe, the history of Cádiz stretches back to the time of the Phoenicians in 1100 BC. On a guided tour, you'll visit the attractions of this ancient city before free time to explore on your own. A labyrinth of narrow streets open up onto quaint squares brimming with life, while the yellow dome of the cathedral dominates the city skyline.

Back on board, lunch is served as you travel back to Jerez, where the train remains overnight. Dinner is taken in a traditional restaurant in Jerez.

Seville

Day 8 – Exploring Seville

Seville

During breakfast, we arrive in Seville and disembark the luxurious Al Andalus train.

On our tour of the historic capital of Andalucía, we discover the cathedral crowned by the Giralda, a famous symbol of Seville. We also walk through the narrow streets of the Barrio de Santa Cruz, where the Jewish community once settled.

After lunch at a local restaurant, you can take private transfer to your choice of 4 or 5-Star hotel for the evening.

Day 9 - Homeward bound

From Granada to Seville, this luxurious journey aboard the magnificent Al Andalus train has taken you to southern Spain's most renowned locations. Visits to Córdoba, Jerez and Cádiz have revealed the charm of this region, while tastings of tapas and sherry - and the vibrant entertainment of flamenco dancers - have offered an enchanting glimpse into its culture.

Awaking in your hotel this morning, your once-in-a-lifetime Andalucían adventure comes to an end as you are transferred from your hotel to Seville airport ready for your flight back to the UK.
